Tom hired me while in high school working at his offices in West Allis, in the lower level on 75th and then the store front with Baumann Realty. We started using technology with a "ticker tape" computer that left little dots EVERYWHERE! Tom had a habit of scolding himself when he didn't get the answer he thought was right and mumbling "dummy Hermann". It was so often that one day I actually said it when he was by my desk. In true Hermann fashion, he simply told me that there was only one dummy Hermann here and I would have to find another name! He moved to 87th & Greenfield and continued to help my parents with their tax returns each year. He even hired my sister for a short time.
When my father was in assisted care and about to celebrate his birthday, I phoned Tom because of his affiliation with "Barbershop Quartets". He helped me arrange for a personal concert that was greatly enjoyed across the facility. I only heard him sing once but I will always remember it fondly.
My condolences to your family. Thank you Tom, for setting me on the path for my future career. I will always remember your kindness, generosity, sick humor and friendship.

My sincere condolences to Tom's entire family. I remember Tom going all the way back to when he and his business were located on the corner of 74th and Greenfield Avenue. He loved his barbershop singing gigs and the people he met. God Bless Tom and his family always.
