Obituary for Therese M. "Tracy" Burger (Buchner)

Therese (Tracy) Marie Burger (nee Buchner) of Muskego, WI passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 12, 2020 at the age of 58 due to a ruptured brain aneurysm. The youngest child of the late Richard and Germaine (Tyson) Buchner, she grew up in Greendale, WI. Beloved wife of Gregory Burger. Loving mother of Spenser Burger.

A 1980 graduate of Greendale High School, Tracy received an Associate's degree in Interior Design and Facilities Planning from Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and a Bachelor's degree in Design, Educational Studies and Fine Art from UW-Milwaukee.

For over 25 years, Tracy was employed at a number of architectural firms in the greater Milwaukee area as an Interior Designer, where she provided design services for commercial, residential and educational facilities. An award winning designer, she recently established her own company, TRACE Elements + Design and Resources, LLC. She used her artistic talent and design experience to fulfill the needs of her clients.

She volunteered weekly as a group facilitator at St. Camillus Retirement Home, offering hands-on watercolor exploration opportunities for dementia residents, in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association Memories in the Making program. She also served as a coach for the Odyssey of the Mind program. She served on the Parent Advisory Board of the Muskego-Norway School District and was a member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).

In the past few years, Tracy painted and assembled pieces of reclaimed and salvaged wood and other media to create beautiful art items enjoyed by many. She used her surroundings as inspiration for her creations. She especially enjoyed roaming her property with her faithful companions, Levi and Kinsey, her golden labs.

Tracy was a devoted wife and mother. She was a consummate lover of language and books. In spite of her debilitating condition, she maintained a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She rarely complained and tried to see the bright side of her situation. She loved to cook and bake and looked for opportunities to entertain her family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all she knew.

In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by her siblings, Vicki (Greg) Koeppel, Mary (Tom) Henricks, Debbie (Jim) Bowen, Richard (Cindy) Buchner and Bonnie (Ken) Hritz; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
