Susan Habermann (nee Filipovich)

Susan “Susie” Habermann born October 7, 1949, found peace on May 7th, 2021 at the age of 71. Sue enjoyed crocheting, singing and her Diet Rite. She was never afraid to lay on the Halston and belt out Patsy Cline every opportunity she could. Despite all her struggles these are the memories that we will cherish.

Also survived by her partner James Flarity. Preceded in death by her Father, John Filipovich and former husband Bernard Habermann.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Sue’s name to: “To Write Love on Her Arms” in support of mental health, addiction, treatment and recovery at or to a charity close to your heart.

I am Susie's sister. These past days have been a struggle with waves of significant grief, sadness, and anger.....This didn't have to be this way on so many levels. The last years have just been so wrong. The Susie I choose to remember is not the one that left us. The one I choose to remember will stay with me forever. I loved to sit and watch her and Karen get ready to "go out" when I was in junior high. How could she make her hair so big?! Susie always was the bubbly, gorgeous sister I wanted to be. "Dear God could you make me short and adorable like her"??? She was sneaking out in her leopard skirt, living her best life. She could make us all laugh like no one else...watching the Smothers Brothers and her favorite: the Monkeys. We did the best harmonies singing while we did the nightly dishes. Once she moved to Milwaukee, I got to visit her for more than a few days at a time. We had awesome fun just sitting on the front steps or heading over to the lake or cooking together. Driving to SD for her wedding as her maid of honor was one of the most fun days. Her big blonde hair and her overwhelming happiness were unforgettable. And her She loved being a new mom and loved her babies. Birthdays, holidays, anniversaries were, for awhile, so very special. Hard for me not to be angry that those went away. I haven't seen Suz since Mom's 90th. I was worried then about her health and longevity. I'm hoping in the last days she found some joy, and that now she has found some peace. I'm keeping her beauty and laughter and good memories in my heart forever.

Dear Family: I remember this sweet soul but after decades I can't remember where. She left a mark on my heart tho and I wanted to acknowledge that. My sympathies.
