Obituary for Sharon A. Sleeth (Smith)

Sharon Ann Sleeth (Nee Smith), age 76, of Greendale, WI, passed away on September 29, 2023 after a battle with cancer. She was born on December 31, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sharon was adopted as an infant by Harry and Jane Smith of Milwaukee.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Dawn Sleeth, Dawn’s life partner Jeff Ziegelbauer, grandchildren Angileena Rodriguez (Ziegelbauer), Brandon Tolbert, Ceanna and Nathan Ziegelbauer and three great-grandchildren. Sharon is further survived by her sister Diane McDonald (Randy), brother Kenneth Smith (Marcia), many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Jane Smith, step-mother LaVerne Smith (Klinkert), brothers Richard “Dick” (Nancy) Smith, Ronald Smith, and sister Barbara Phillips (Smith).

Sharon worked as a waitress at the Golden Dragon restaurant in Milwaukee for over 22 years and was a favorite among the customers there.

Sharon later worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Lukes hospital in Milwaukee providing 15 years of loving care to cancer patients.

Sharon retired in 2013 and spent time with her family, played Bingo, socialized with friends, watched her favorite TV shows as well as Brewers and Packer games. Sharon seldom missed an opportunity to attend a family gathering or social event.

Sharon is best remembered for her positive and carefree personality, infectious laugh, and care for others. She will be missed by many!

A very special thank you to Sharon’s recently discovered biological cousins; Carol Radecki and Sarah Bartz who welcomed Sharon and her family with open arms and love.

The family would also like to acknowledge and thank the staffs at St. Lukes Hospital’s Vince Lombardi Clinic, 12th floor (cancer unit) and Vitas Healthcare Hospice for the kind and loving care they provided to Sharon.

Visitation at Hartson Funeral Home on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 12 noon to 3 pm. Funeral Service 3 pm.
