Obituary for Sandra Ann Sannes (Klumb)

HALES CORNERS - (Nee Klumb) Age 76. Sandy was born on July 27, 1946 and was born to eternal life on February 18, 2023. Preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Eleanor Klumb.

Loving wife of Randy. Beloved step-mother of Sean (Patty), Scott (Melissa), Dawn (Scott), Kevin (Amy W.), Amy (Bob), and Lisa (Josh). Cherished grandmother of Owen, Logan, Ellie, Tanner, Sophia, Madelyn, Alex, Emma, Chase, Charlie, June, and Stella. Further survived by her brother Tom (Nancy) and nephews, Ryan & Scott.

When asked how she would like to be remembered, Sandy answered, “As a stepmother, leader and teacher, active community member, businesswoman and friend.” She loved to travel, especially to the Southwest, and had great interest in collecting Native American artwork. She also loved flowers - she had to have a fresh bouquet every week. Sandy was also a woman of faith and she had a beautiful relationship with the Lord which helped her immensely through her illness.

Her professional career included positions as District Manager for Manpower Inc., Manager at Hatch Staffing, Manager for IT Recruiting at Entre PC Solutions, and Manager of Recruiting for Lauber CFOs.
Sandy was active in many organizations during her lifetime including Human Resource Management, Interfaith, Hire Center, and the Administrative Management Association. She was a board member and officer of Sales and Marketing Executives, charter member of Recruiter Network, member of the Governor’s Older Workers Taskforce, and president and member of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.

In addition, she served the Village of Hales Corners for 24 years: six years as a trustee and 18 years as a member of the Fire & Police Commission. She also was active at Whitnall Park Lutheran Church, serving on the church council.

Sandy volunteered at Boerner Botanical gardens as a guide for schoolchildren, at Bethesda Lutheran Resale Shop, and at the Peninsula School of Art’s annual Plein Air Festival. With Randy, she was a longtime member of the Hales Corners Historical Society, where she most recently served as a director and recording secretary.
Sandy also was an avid reader and lifelong learner who enjoyed taking classes at Clement Manor. She had a large number of loyal friends whom she met through all of her activities. She cherished dinners, shopping, flowers, and talking with friends. She loved spending time at the condo in Egg Harbor. Many memories were shared with friends and family there. She loved the views of the water and enjoyed many Door County sunsets.

Sandy Sannes was a remarkable woman who battled multiple myeloma for 11 months. Thank you to Froedtert Hospital and especially to Dr. Medlin and the staff at St. Luke’s where she received the majority of her cancer care. Also, a special thank you to all of her friends who provided support and prayers during her illness.
