Obituary for Rollin G. Block

Age 91. At peace November 14, 2019. Rollin, the youngest of 16 children, was born on April 19th, 1928, to Jennie (nee Sorenson) and Leopold Block, Norwegian and Swedish immigrants. Rollin, a pitcher, began playing baseball at a young age which led him to play professionally for the White Sox and Oil City Refiners in the late forties. He worked for Allen-Bradley as a special- machinist and precision machined parts for the four-faced clock. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Bernice. Rollin loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his children Thomas, Lisa, Timothy (the late Heidi), Joan (Craig) Landowski and Theodore (Denise). Grandchildren Aubree (Scott) Sachen, Julia (William) Block, Jesse, Jack (Jennifer), Jenni (fiance Sheldon) and Joel Landowski. Kelly (Jason), Heather (Kevin), Ashley (R,J,) and Alexandria (Matt). Great-grandchildren Trevor, Scotty, Florence, Eleanor, Owen, Isaac, Gabrielle, Isabelle, Faith, Wyatt and Dorothy. A special thank you to the staff at Luther Manor for the great care and support you provided. Visitation at Hartson Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Funeral Service 12 Noon. Entombment to follow: Arlington Park Cemetery.
