Obituary

Roger Brandemuehl, born December 23, 1953 in Lancaster, WI, passed away peacefully at home in Menomonee Falls with his family on March 12, 2021 after an extremely hard-fought ten-year battle with cancer. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Robert and Retha (Grebe) Brandemuehl, father-in-law Robert Kirchen, and sister Annabel (Brandemuehl) Barr (Bernard). He is survived by his wife Debra (Kirchen) Brandemuehl of 45 years (partner of 50); children Michael Brandemuehl (Rachel), Theresa Brandemuehl, Michelle Brandemuehl (Jordan Siewert), Derek Brandemuehl (Jaclyn Volz), Brian Gomez (Chantell), and Becky Stacey (Drew); grandchildren Laciana, Julien, Jovani, Colton, Christina, Remy, andArcadia (due 5/23/21); mother-in-law Santa Marie (Cottone) Kirchen; brothers Robert Brandemuehl (Jamie) and Ronald Brandemuehl (Rose), sister-in-law Kim (Kirchen) Volk (David), brother-in-law David Kirchen (Sandra); and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Roger started his career at Falk Corporation in Milwaukee as a welder in 1972, spent five years at Super Steel, and retired as a Fabrication Specialist from Rexnord Corporation (Falk) in 2019. He was a dedicated employee who knew his machines like the back of his hand and worked tirelessly to provide for his family.

Roger was loved by many for the way he lit up a room with his big smile, made everyone feel welcome, and made people laugh with his quick wit, humor, and one-liners. He was known for his heart-to-heart talks, and always knew what to say and what advice to give. He had such a big heart, and family meant everything to him. He was always there for any important event and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was the biggest fan in the stands. Roger was Mr. Fix-It, and could “MacGyver” any situation. He loved singing and was known for having perfect pitch. He sang in the St. Philip Neri choir, in the Nerily Brothers quartet, and for many family and friends’ weddings. He played the saxophone, piano, keyboard, and taught himself to play the organ at a very young age. He was Drum Major in the Milwaukee Continental Youth Band, which is where he met Debbie. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed turkey hunting, camping, golfing, relaxing around a campfire, and watching his squirrels and birds. He spent many fond years on bowling, pool, and dart leagues. His happy place was anywhere playing a slot machine. He loved line dancing with Debbie and their line dancing crew. Any time spent with Roger was a fun time filled with laughter and love. He was the rock of his family and his legacy will live on forever.

Per Roger’s request, there will be a Celebration of Life, for all to remember the good times and share in fond memories, held on Saturday, July 17th from 12pm – 4pm outdoors at the Lisbon Town Hall Park and Shelter located at W234 N8624 Woodside Road in Lisbon, WI 53089. Main dishes and some beverages will be provided, but feel free to bring your own drinks and a dish to pass. We look forward to celebrating Roger’s life with everyone who loved him.
