Obituary for Robert Walter Tab Sr.

March 4, 1936 – Friday, March 24, 2023

Robert W. “Bob” Tab, Sr. of Franklin peacefully passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023. He was surrounded with love as he was welcomed by Jesus Our Lord and Savior at the blessed age of 87.

He was preceded in death by his beloved bride of 63 loving and devoted years, Shirley.

He was a loving father to his four children, Robert Jr. (Jill), Lynn, Mary Kay (Russell), Laura (Duane). Grandpa to Becky (Chris), Jessica (Dan), Ryan, and Breanna. Great Grandpa to Rachel. Further survived by his sister, Dorothy; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Dennis); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, where he was the proud Honor Guard for General Curtis LeMay. He then spent many years as a welder and retired from Superior Die Set.

Bob had a zest for life and a love for people. He was known as a jokester who enjoyed lighthearted bantering. In his younger years he played in a band, was a sharp shooter in the West Allis handgun league, and an avid movie watcher. All will miss his countless stories, respect for the military, and country.

A special heartfelt thank you to Heather and Jeanine of Accent Care and all of his caregivers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Alphonsus Parish at 6060 W. Loomis Road in Greendale on Wednesday April 5th. Visitation will occur from 10:00 until 11:45. A memorial mass will follow at 12:00. Following the memorial mass Military Honors will be presented. Committal service will follow at St. Adalberts Cemetery 3801 S 6th Street in Milwaukee.
