Obituary for Robert D. "Bob" Salzer

Saturday, November 19, 1927 - Friday, April 7, 2023. Of Milwaukee/Dousman, WI was called to Heaven on Friday, April 7, 2023. He was surrounded with love as he was welcomed by Jesus his Lord and Savior at the blessed age of 95.

He is survived by his loving wife Ruth (nee Janik) of 71 years of Marriage. He was a loving father to his three children, Robin (Ann-Marie Villicana), Rhonda Silver (Bob Mader) and Ryan (Debra Salzer). Loving grandpa to Alexander, Nicholas and Josefina Villicana-Salzer, Shannon Silver Schuchard (Erik) and Eric Silver, Matthew (Charity) Salzer and Michael Salzer. Loving great-grandfather to Ephraim, Eloise and Evangeline Salzer.

He was preceded in death by his brother Carl R. Salzer, mother Louise Melody, grandmother Marie "Mor Mor" Thomas and sister Verona Fenzl.

He served in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Missouri - the "Mighty Mo". He then spent many years working and retired from the American Motors/Chrysler Corp. Bob had a zest for life and a love for people. He graduated from South Division High School in 1946 and was a member of the "Fabulous Forties" and attended the University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee.

He sang Alto in the Blessed Sacrament Church Choir for many decades and also for the Suburban Singers. He enjoyed being Cub Scout Troop Leader of Pack 160. His love of magic which started as a teenager progressed to joining several clubs and became president of the International Brotherhood of Magicicans Ring 41.

Visitation at Hartson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4 pm to 6 pm with a Celebration of Life at 6 pm.
