Obituary for Robert Mathew Marach

Robert “Bob” Matthew Marach Sr. passed away in his sleep on the morning of January 26th, 2021. He is survived by his four children, Bob Jr. (m-Kate Adamonis), Katherine, Michael, Daniel and his grandson Matthew, as well as sisters Linda and MaryBeth.

Bob was born and raised in Evergreen Park, Illinois, but he had called the city of Milwaukee home for more than 30 years. Bob’s career was defined by his ability to form a connection with anyone that he met, first as a furniture salesman and later as a limousine and shuttle driver. Customers would repeatedly request his services and update him on the events in their lives since their last meeting. On the golf course, he played many a round with a stranger who became a friend by the 18th green.

Bob lived and died for his sports teams, primarily the Chicago Blackhawks, Bears, and White Sox. He reveled in the fact that he lived to see all of his teams win at least one championship, even more so that he was able to celebrate some of them with his children. He instilled a love of sports in his kids and spurred them onto the field. He coached all four of them in either baseball or softball, and on more than one occasion got himself ejected from little league games for his enthusiasm. Even after his three sons had grown, he still trotted out to the baseball field and threw batting practice for them. In his final months, he beamed with pride watching his one-year old grandson learn to throw a baseball. He would undoubtedly rejoice that his passion for sports will endure in his children and grandson.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, his family asks that his friends reflect on his memory privately in the safety of their own homes.
