Obituary

Robert Loeser passed peacefully into Heaven on June 2, 2020 after an eight-month journey with cancer. Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Vera. He was a loving father to Nancy (Ted) Haddad, Pat (John) Peschman, Sue (Jeff) Lucas and Kris (Scott) Kessler. He was also a proud Grandpa to Jenny (Berkeley Gossett) Lucas, Stephen (Lindsey)Peschman, Megan (Tim) Hoy, Ryan Lucas, Andrew Peschman, Chris (Jamie-Lee) Haddad, Katelyn (Austin) Carrigan, Michael Haddad, Allen Prange, Maddie and Chase Kessler and his 8 great-grandchildren.

Bob grew up in Shorewood, Wisconsin during the Great Depression which strongly influenced his approach to life. He was a graduate of Shorewood High School. When WWII began and his friends were being drafted, Bob volunteered to enlist in the Navy despite his employer obtaining a deferment for him. After basic training, he was ordered to deploy to southern England. He participated in the D-Day invasion; making repeated runs to land tanks, troops and supplies on Omaha Beach as a motor machinist mate on an LCT (Landing Craft Tank). He spent three adventurous years in the service.

After discharge from the Navy, Bob attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, studying engineering. He met Vera on a blind date, and they were married on August 27th, 1949. He spent most of his career at Kearney and Trecker as a machine tool design engineer.

Bob was fortunate to retire at the age of 62. In retirement he pursued an interest in watercolor painting as a member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society and Milwaukee Men’s Sketch Club. His family and friends are the beneficiaries of his many beautiful works of art. Bob and Vera also enjoyed playing golf, wintering on the Gulf Coast and spending time with family.

We will miss his wonderful stories and corny jokes, but we are thankful for his incredible life. The family wishes to thank ProHealth Hospice for their wonderful care and guidance.

A private funeral mass will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to either V Foundation for Cancer Research (www.v.org) or the school at St. John Vianney (https://stjohnv.org/school/cure-dars-annual-fund-2/).
