Obituary for Robert Michael Gutmann

Robert “Bob” M. Gutmann

Passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at home on February 11, 2023 at the age of 68.

Cherished husband of Gail (nee Behnke). She was the love of his life. After almost 30 years of marriage her continued care and commitment to him made his love grow for her more every day. He was her Cutie Pie and she was his Boo Boo.

Loving Son of the late Henry and Olga Gutmann of Brown Deer. Beloved Brother of John (Sue), Ann (Dick) Oehme, Henry (Barbara) and Joseph (Trish). Dear Brother-in-law to Dennis (Tassy), Gary (Linda), Linda (James) Gigl, David (Annette), James Wied, DeAnn Behnke, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bob attended Brown Deer High School.

Bob retired from Marquette University after 17 years of service in 2014. He was a Technical Support Specialist. Bob also was employed at Briggs & Stratton for 17 years as a material handler.

Bob was always willing to assist family and friends with computer problems and loved keeping others updated on the latest world events. He loved being creative with not only his music but also creating videos for his personal enjoyment and writing the newsletter for The Fisherman’s Club.

Bob was a great lover of music, from singing and recording his own music to having jam sessions with his lifelong friend, Jack. He learned the guitar and piano by ear. Whether playing country music or a beautiful ballad, he was a talented musician.

Bob’s personality was one of kindness, joy, and laughter. He loved his family deeply and was always the life of any gathering. His quick wit to find humor in any situation always left a memorable impression.

Bob will be missed and never forgotten while he rests until we see him again. Jesus greeted him saying Well Done Good and Faithful Servant.

There will be no funeral service. A private gathering will be held at a future date.
