Rick Seavers, 67, passed away on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023.
Rick was born the oldest of six siblings to Nick and Mary Jane Seavers in West Allis, WI, on March 3rd, 1956. He worked as a purchaser for Allen Bradley and Marquette Electronics. Rick had a passion for people, and that was evident in his career and his personal life.
Rick attended UWM Milwaukee for two years and transferred to Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois. He received a Bachelors Degree in Business In 1978 and when Rick was 26 he met his future wife, Julie Durbin, and they were married on September 23, 1983. In 1989, Rick and Julie had their first child, James Edward and two years later in 1991, they welcomed their daughter Kathryn Rose. He worked tirelessly with Julie to ensure their children grew up happy, healthy, and loved.
After medical issues required Rick to retire early, he devoted himself to caring for his family and making the most of life.
Rick held many titles throughout his life: husband, father, fun uncle, cookie dad for the Girl Scouts, and proud band parent. He had an unstoppable sense of humor and a love for “dad jokes”. He was an endless source of entertainment for all who knew him. Rick also loved to visit new places. He and Julie explored the small towns of Wisconsin and neighboring states. For their 40th wedding anniversary they took a riverboat cruise up the Danube, from Budapest to Amsterdam. This was their final adventure together.
Rick is preceded in death by his father Nick, his mother Mary Jane, and his brothers, Nicky and Cory.
He is survived by his wife, Julie, his son James (Jessica Seavers) his daughter, Kathryn (Daniel Grammel) his sisters, Michelle, Robin and Jennifer (Chris Marshall), and many nieces and nephews. Rick was especially close to Kevin (Therese Meyers), Elena and Evan.
