Obituary

On Thursday, April 8th, 2021, Richard Joecks, beloved husband and best friend of Trudy (nee Brice) was born to Eternal Life at age 79.

Richard (Dick) was born on April 15th, 1941 in Milwaukee WI. He attended Atonement Lutheran School, graduated from Custer High School and then attended UWM for 2 years before receiving his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Marquette University School of Engineering. He worked for several rotating equipment manufacturers in the Milwaukee area until his retirement in 2002. On July 15th, 1972 he married Trudy and although they had no children, they worked together to raise many furry and feathered family members.

Dick had a passion for both reading and model railroading. He loved browsing new and used bookstores and collected a wide variety of genre. He enjoyed building craftsmen kits for his model railroad and planning his “Door County” layout since Door County was his and Trudy’s favorite place to spend their vacations. He enjoyed attending Packer and Brewer games, concerts of all kinds and theatrical productions with friends and family.

His father, George, and his mother, Adele, preceded Dick in death. He is survived by his wife, Trudy, his brother, David, his brother & sister-in-law, John and Michele Schmitz, 9 nieces and nephews, other friends and a very special neighbor, Elizabeth.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 15th, 2021at St. Jacobi Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8605 W. Forest Home Ave. Greenfield, 53228, at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jacobi Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
