Obituary for Raul Terriquez

Raul Jose Terriquez, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2023. He was 94 years old.

Raul was born October 28, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to Juan and Anita Marie (Cordero) Terriquez. He spent most of his early childhood growing up with his siblings in Guadalajara, Mexico before returning to New York.

He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1940 and from there graduated from The City College of NY where he studied photography.

During his studies, Raul served in the United States Navy on the USS LST-512 ship during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1947. Later Raul settled in a home on Long Island with his wife Eucaris.

Instilled with a strong work ethic, he spent many years commuting from Long Island to NYC. where he worked as foreman for various printing businesses throughout Manhattan and Nassau County. With a fondness for teaching, Raul became an instructor of Lithography for the Lewis Wilson Technological Center on Long Island.

He lived in Long island until 2003 and then resided to Milwaukee, WI.

A devoted Catholic, Raul enjoyed reading books on the faith and made sure to read his bible to his wife every evening. He enjoyed cooking homemade favorites like Puerto Rican Pasteles, and passing down his recipes. Most of all, he loved being around his family. Everyone will remember his warm, genuine smile and his kind, gentle heart. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him well.

Raul is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Marie (Cordero) Terriquez, siblings William, Gilbert, Lillian Fulladosa and Alice Stippa. Raul was widowed by his first wife Carmen (Zayas) Terriquez, mother of Raul Edward.

Raul is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eucaris (Alvarez) Terriquez, his children, Raul E.(Debbie) of Milwaukee WI, Frederick of Milwaukee WI and Dawn (Christian) Fritz of Sayville NY; His grandchildren, Paul (Kayla), Michelle (Andrew) Floryance, Carmen (Michael) Fox, Nicholas, Avery and great-grandchildren Saul, William, Rosalie, Colette and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial will be held at 10am with Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Veronica Roman Catholic Church, 4001 S. Whitnall Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207 on Friday, February 10th, 2023. Close Family will be meeting at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI at 2pm for the burial service.
