On April 13th, 2020, Olga Iris Obando (formerly Ayala) was called to be with our heavenly father. Born in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico on February 23rd, 1960, she was the Daughter of Angelica Caballero and William Ayala. A beloved sister to Lilian Ayala, Rafael Gonzalez, and Marisol Gonzalez. She was married to Alvaro Obando bringing into this world Gwendolyn Obando, Beverly Obando and Julissa Obando. Blessed grandmother of Analiyah Burgos- Obando. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

As a nurturing mother, servant of God, and proud employee of Morgandale Elementary school for almost 30 years, she exemplified being a loving, caring, extraordinary woman who provided a safe haven to her students as well as many others. She loved to travel, dance, sing, shop, and make so many memories with family and friends. She devoted her life to being a woman of God who loved her daughters and granddaughter over all things.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday April 25th, 2020 at 4:15 PM for a virtual service of scripture to be held on Facebook Live for all that would like to commemorate her life. You are welcome to show your support by sending flowers directly to our family, or donating to Go Fund Me, whichever of your choosing.

God Bless you always

Olga had a heart of gold. Her love was felt by all who met her. She touched the lives of those around her, including students, teachers, administrators, school staff, and so many families at Morgandale School. I had the great honor of working with her and I was Julissa’s teacher. Olga talked lovingly about her girls, Gwendolyn, Beverly, Julissa and granddaughter Analiyah. They meant the world to her. I remember how she told funny stories, how she laughed and joked around. I will miss her smile. Olga and her family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace. Descansa en paz, querida amiga. 💜
