Obituary for Michael B. Strande

On February 25, at the age of 55, Mike was reunited with his parents, Brad and Carol, and his brother Brett. He is immensely missed by his son Bradley, his Aunt Sandy (Pat), Uncle Lee (MaryAnn), friends Wally and MaryAnn, numerous cousins, other friends and his 4-legged boys Jake and Mack.

Mike will be remembered as a wonderful father who dedicated his life to his son. Family was the world to him. There wasn’t anything Mike wouldn’t do when called upon. He was the go-to guy for anything and everything. He loved the challenge of solving mechanical and electrical problems and taking on building projects. Mike could look at a product, see the flaws, and build a better version. Whatever Mike did, he did with perfection.

Mike had many passions in life. His love of boating and bare-foot water-skiing was passed on to Brad. As a life-long Nascar fan, he fulfilled his dream of driving a Nascar at the Chicagoland Speedway. Starting in his teens, Mike enjoyed modifying every vehicle he owned. He spent endless weekends rebuilding engines and jacking up trucks; the higher the better. He loved motorcycle riding and weekend camping trips with his friends and he was king of the Weber with his unique grilling techniques. He entertained us all with his dry sense of humor and he had an amazing ability to put a smile on your face even at your lowest point

Mike was not done. He had a lot more to do with his life. His unexpected loss is immeasurable to all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on March 14 at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr. in Brookfield. Visitation will be from 12-1:30. Mike’s service will begin at 1:30.
