Obituary for Mary Theresa Panfil (Andraczcyk)

Age 91. Of Greenfield Wisconsin, beloved wife, companion, sister, mother and grandmother, peacefully passed on to her heavenly home on March 13th, 2022 after battling Alzheimer's in her final years.

Mary was a loving soul throughout her life and was loved by everyone whose life she touched. She was blessed by sharing many decades with the two loves of her life, her first husband, Ervin Panfil, who predeceased her in 1991, and John Regner, her partner since 1992 who was at her side when she passed.

Mary and Ervin raised two adopted daughters - Diane Panfil / Schumann of Madison, and Amy Panfil / Quinlan of Milwaukee - and were shown how important it is to be raised in a loving household. In Mary's later years with John, she shared that same love of family with John's adult children - Cyndi Regner / Karsten, Denise Regner / Ramos, John R. Regner, Karen Regner- Matthews, and Diane Regner / Zelechowski, all of Milwaukee Wisconsin, as well as 16 grandchildren from both families. Mary was predeceased by her beloved sister Rita in 2020.

Mary had a real zest for life. She loved music and was a talented musician, playing stand - up bass for many years in a 8-piece, all-female Milwaukee - based band, the Milwaukee-ettes. She loved fishing– especially at their Northern Wisconsin lakeshore cabin, and she could filet even Northern Pike perfectly. She was a wonderful cook and baker, especially for special occasions. Mary was an avid golfer and also bowled for decades in multiple leagues, with her top averages in the 170s. Mary was very artistic, doing sketching with her daughters as well as many types of crafts, including knitting & crocheting. She had a great love of nature - being able to observe deer in her own back yard, and she especially enjoyed the wildlife at their Northwoods cabin. Mary also had an entrepreneurial spirit, doing a Shaklee business from home for many years.

As the beautiful woman that she was, Mary knew fashion from the ground up, starting with her amazing shoe collection - and she would certainly notice the shoes that you were wearing. She always had a "put together" look - to match her beautiful smile.

Mary's faith was very important to her. She was a lifelong member of Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Mary was very quick-witted and always ready with a 1-liner or a "zinger" that would make everyone laugh. Mary loved being with people, socializing with friends and being out dancing. She especially enjoyed being part of her women's Red Hat Society group for many years. Mary touched so many lives with her love in so many ways, and everyone was a better person for knowing her.

Visitation at Hartson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 22nd from 10 AM to 11 AM. Funeral Service 11 AM. Interment to follow: St. Adalbert Cemetery.
