Obituary for Marvin Donald Wenninger

WAUWATOSA - Age 97. At home with the Lord on February 23, 2023.

Marvin (Marv) was born October 7, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Edna Wenninger, his wife Bernice (1948-1966) and wife Flora (1969-2006). He is survived by two daughters Eileen Burkholder (Dayton) and Diane Fritsch (Kerry). He is also survived by two step children, Ron Ragan (Sharon) and Susie White.

Marv graduated from Rufus King High School in January of 1943. He then entered the military branch of the U.S. Army as a Reconnaissance Scout in Headquarters Company, 354th Infantry, 89th Division…also called the Rolling W. Marv was also a purple heart recipient almost losing his leg to a German 88 shell which exploded near his jeep while scouting with his Platoon Leader in Vollerslaben, Germany.

Upon returning to Milwaukee, WI from his military service, Marv joined his father in his plumbing business, Wenninger Bros. Plumbing, started by his father and uncle. Marv, a Master Plumber, eventually took over the business which became Wenninger and Son Plumbing, Inc.

Marv had many interests including music (Big Band being his absolute favorite), movies (especially musicals and WWII historical), dogs, birdwatching, investing and dancing.

Marv gave his life to Jesus in 1944 and his relationship and walk with Him was his highest priority. His entire life was about sharing the Good News with as many people he could. Sharing the gift of salvation that only comes through admitting our sin and need for our Savior, Jesus, was Marv’s absolute priority (John 3:16-17, Romans 5:8, John 14:6).
