Obituary for Marilyn A. Peliska (Nierzwicki)

Marilyn Ann Peliska (nee Nierzwicki), Age 85 of Hales Corners WI, went home to dance for Jesus, her Savior, on Wednesday December 28th, 2022.

Marilyn was born on May 6th, 1937, to Agnes and John Alexander Nierzwicki and was raised on the south side of Milwaukee where she met and married her husband Charles in 1956. Together they raised six children, primarily in Hales Corners. Once their kids were old enough, Marilyn followed her dream of becoming a nurse. Marilyn graduated as an LPN and would go on to work for Teamsters and the Aurora Healthcare system at a clinic on Milwaukee’s south side until retirement.

Marilyn loved to crochet afghans and ponchos for family and friends, was a passionate reader, loved Christian music, live concerts, and loved to dance. She deeply loved all her fur-babies and was always happiest when there was a dog in the house. She freely shared her love with them as well as her applesauce at bedtime!

Marilyn was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Faith Community for over 50 years. Her faith in God was absolute, and her love for her Savior Jesus Christ knew no bounds. She was a fearless prayer warrior for her family and community.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Agnes and John Alexander, brother Donald, sister Marcella, husband Charles, and Granddaughter Sarah Ann Maxwell.

Marilyn is survived, loved, and will be deeply missed by Scott (Karen), Ken (Betsy), Laurine (Bob) Maxwell, James (Noreen), Susan, and Jennifer Rasmussen. Marilyn is also survived by her loving Grandchildren Amber (Gabe), Zachary, Rachel, Jacob (Allie), Matthew, Lucas, Samuel (Natasha), Taylor, Joseph, Natalie, Rosie, Edmund, and Aaron. Marilyn is further survived by Great-Granddaughter Ariadne, and her beloved dog Caci.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the staff members and volunteers at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Marilyn and shown to the family during her stay.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s name to St. Mary Catholic Faith Community, or Xavier Missionaries would be lovingly appreciated.
