Obituary for Kenneth Fred Neusen

Kenneth passed away on December 9, 2022 at the age of 87. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on April 22, 1935. Beloved husband of Joanne (nee Boyer) for 65 years. Loving father of Linda Neusen (Ido Regev), Kfar Vradim, Israel; Ronald (Cynthia), Madison; and Eric (Karen), Mequon. Special Grandpa to Greg Johnson, Cameron, James, Lucas, Emma, and Leah Neusen. Preceded in death by parents William Neusen and Alma Huebner; brothers Wiliam, Robert, and Gerald.

Ken was a graduate of Juneau High School, UCal Berkeley, MS; and UW Madison, PhD. He worked as a nuclear engineer for Allis Chalmers before joining the faculty of UWM where he taught for 35 years in the mechanical engineering department. He was a researcher in water jet cutting and in areas of alternative fuels. In addition, Ken carried out administrative responsibilities in the UWM graduate school and as acting dean in the college of engineering.

He loved playing volleyball with the Waukesha YMCA “Old Bucks” and golfing with the UWM golf league. Camping with the family led to fun-filled adventures. He was a member of Hales Corners Lutheran Church for 60 years.

Ken leaves behind many loved relatives and friends to cherish his memory. Special thanks to staff and caregivers of Betty’s Harbor memory care center at New Perspectives, Franklin.

A remembrance service will be held later.
