Milwaukee, WI - (Nee Bacik) Age 77, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022. She was born May 6th, 1944 in Milwaukee, daughter of John & Marie Bacik.
Kathy grew up in Milwaukee, attended Pius XI High school where she met the love of her life - John - after stapling his finger during class. Kathy & John were happily married for 52 years. Kathy became a mother and was completely immersed in raising her three children. She further threw herself into all things kids - girl scouts, boy scouts, sports, fundraising etc. Kathy loved her St. Mary School & Church community and if a volunteer was needed - Kathy was the first to raise her hand.
Later in life, Kathy pursued and earned her college degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College in Horticulture and was employed by Boerner Botanical Gardens. Kathy’s yard was a source of great joy, she loved tending to her flowers, enjoying the birds and loving her home surroundings. Kathy had many passions, among them; fishing, travel, and her grandchildren. She loved to gather around the bonfire and share stories and laughs or teach her grandkids card games and fishing techniques.
Her happy place was wherever her immediate or extended family was gathering. Family was always a priority. Kathy had a huge heart and was a loving, compassionate and strong Christian woman. She was quick with a smile, and had an enormous capacity for kindness. Kathy made all around her feel loved, appreciated and inspired.
Kathy is survived by her husband; John T. Lagowski; children, Jennifer (Brad) Allen, Anthony (Michelle) Lagowski, Jacqueline Lagowski; sister, Marlene Cardamone; brother, John (Beth) Bacik; grandchildren, Olivia, Spencer, Samuel, Lillian, Alexandra, Edward, Hudson; In laws; Ken (Lynn) Lagowsi, Judy Lagowski, Joan Schotanus and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; John & Marie Bacik, grand daughter Grace Allen and nephew John R. Lagowski.
Kathy’s visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Faith Community Church, 9520 W. Forest Home Avenue, Saturday, April 23rd from 11:30 am to 1:15 pm with mass to follow at 1:30 pm. A private inurnment ceremony will happen at a later date at St. Mary Catholic Faith Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and in keeping with honoring one of Kathy’s life's passions, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Hales Corners School in her name.
