“Kika” as all our family called her, enjoyed spending time with family and making memories. Kika loved to watch old-western movies, Grey's Anatomy and NCIS. Kika was a feisty little lady that said it like it was. Like it or not, you got the truth. Kika enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting blankets for her grandkids. Kika enjoyed going to Potawatomi, rides and going out for dinner, a lot… Her favorite spots to eat were Olive Garden, George Webbs, Oakland Gyros, Red Lobster, El Senorial and Oscar’s (Taco Tuesday). Before losing all of her hearing in 2018, she enjoyed listening to music like Tejano, Oldies and Country.

Kika was a woman who instilled the importance of love into the family. Family is everything and she made sure we knew and believed it. The little woman you hear before you from Crystal City was a native queen who handed down the riches of love, wisdom and memories to the next generation. She was the pillar of this family. Her teachings live through us all as we do our best to live to honor her. We are her legacy. She was a fighter her whole life up until the very end. She inspires us all to live with that fighting spirit and familial love for the people we call our tribe. This lesson will live long past her lifetime, while she celebrates and waits for us in the heavens.

One minute after a believer dies:

Angels usher your soul to Heaven (Luke 16:22)

You immediately enter God's presence (2 Corinthians 5:6-8)

You are conscious, in command of your thinking, feeling, speech and memories (Luke 16:19-31)

You participate in magnificent worship with angels and believers before the throne of God and Christ (Revelation 4-5)

You are aware to some degree of activities and events on Earth (Revelation 6:9-10)

You will recognize and communicate with believers who preceded you to Heaven (Luke 9:28-36)
