Jeanine Kathleen (McCloskey) Bruening passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Jeanine was born on November 20, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the second of two children of James and Marion (Terry) McCloskey.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Lawrence H. Bruening, and her sister Mary Ann (James) Ludwig. She will be greatly missed by her five children: Michael (Cathleen) Bruening, Maureen (Gary) Olszewski, Daniel (Debbie) Bruening, Douglas (Mary) Bruening and Eileen (Robert) Suhm. She also will be remembered by her 15 grandchildren: Nicholas (Suhani) Olszewski, Abigail (Trent) Jarrett, Benjamin Bruening, Amanda Bruening, Sara (Jake) Wilkinson, Joseph Bruening, Emily Olszewski, Samantha (Jeff) Teumer, Timothy Bruening, Thomas Bruening, Patrick Bruening, Hannah Bruening, Alex Suhm, Robert Bruening and Luke Suhm. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Eleanor Wilkinson.
She attended high school at St. Mary’s Academy. After high school, she worked in finance at Mobile Oil. For many years, she was a dedicated and devoted homemaker to her husband and children. She enjoyed luncheon with her fellow high school graduates and attending card club with her former co-workers. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, bird watching and playing slot machines. Jeanine was very proud of her Aunt Sister Michelle Terry, who was a Franciscan nun.
Her Spirituality was influential to everyone she met and evident in how she lived her life. Jeanine’s sense of humor and bubbly personality were loved by all. Most importantly, she loved being with her family. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
