Obituary

The day was perfect, the sun had been shining and her 2 daughters were holding her hands. She left later that day to be with her husband, John and her firstborn child Kathleen.

Jane H. Stewart Nee Atkins, passed peacefully on December 2, 2020. She left her mark on everything and everyone she touched. She was born on February 2, 1931 in Dubuque Iowa to John and Helen Atkins. They made their way to Milwaukee where she met daddy and they were married on November 27th, 1954 and she looked like a fairy princess.

Mom worked as a secretary for Holy Angels in Milwaukee so she could be home with her kids during the summer. In 1974 she was transplanted in Oshkosh and took a job at First Presbyterian Church and loved them all so much. She was celebrated by them for her years of service. She continued to work there even after loosing most of her eye sight. She always spoke of the church as her family.

Mom was involved with EAA for many years, Women’s Association of Oshkosh, Saint Raphael’s Parish and golfed on women’s golf leagues and card clubs. She had parties while we were growing up with her friends and we always loved watching them all have grand times. She loved to travel with daddy and they did whenever they had the chance.

She was the most amazing grandmother and her grandchildren Anthony, Rebecca, Gregory and Olivia were able to have a precious zoom with her a few days before she passed away. What a treasure.

She is survived by her children, Mary Stewart, Linda (Gary) Kaufmann, Scott and Laurie. Several Grandchildren, Great grandchildren and great great grandchild Ellie.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband John and her beautiful firstborn child Kathleen and grand daughter Monica Frances.

A private service was held and Jane and John were interred at Saint Mary’s. A memorial has been established for The National Dementia Association.

Mary and Linda want to thank the entire staff at Park Hills West in Hales Corners for their constant love and support of mom. “ The closest thing to being cared for is to care for someone else”.

My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood, His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace
