Obituary for James F. Kindler
James F. “Duke” Kindler passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 25, 2023, at the age of 83.
Duke is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Susan (nee Cieplewski). Loving father of Julie (Bernie) Shaw, Jim (Susie), Bonnie (Daryl) Foellings, Mike (Cathy) and Dave (Lori). Forever cherished and missed by his grandchildren Ryan, Justin, Kaitlyn, Nick, Calvin, Chelsea, Taylor, Sarah, Aly, Lauren, Johnny and Michaela. Loved and adored by his 17 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister June (Ray) Puls, Raymond (Barb), Bonnie (Pete) Kergil, and Gerald (Donna).
He was preceded in death by his mother Jewell and brother Thomas.
Duke was a skilled craftsman and cabinet maker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapshooting and being in his shop creating beautiful woodwork. Above everything, he loved his family, dogs, and telling jokes to his grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed, and live forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Guide Dog Foundation are appreciated. Guide Dog Foundation is an organization that specially trains services dogs for the blind, a cause that was near and dear to Duke’s heart.
Visitation at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 7963 S 116th Street, Franklin on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 3pm to 4:45pm, Funeral mass at 5:00pm.
