My dad was a 'jack-of-all-trades' and at one time mechanics was his joy. I recall a time he had completed worked on my car and there were some screws left on the ground; I was skeptical. He was so proud of his work, LOL
I said: "Daddy what about these screws, where do they belong?" He nonchalantly said: "it must not have REALLY needed those." And THAT was the end of story. He worked on ALL of our cars at one point and we questioned nothing.

Ditto! When he put an engine in my first car; the red one; there were at least 15 screws on the ground. "Dad, what are all these screws? You didn't put them in." His response, "Well, you really didn't need all of those." Me, "Then why were they included?" His reply, "They include extra screws." Done. No more questions. I drove that car from Racine to Milwaukee for quite some time. Never was stranded. Love my Big Poppa.
