Obituary for Geraldine K. Peliska (Tiskewicz)

Geraldine (Geri) Kathryn Peliska (nee: Tiskewicz)

Found peace October 17, 2022 at the age of 90. This loving, fiercely independent, and loyal defender of family and friends joins Harry, her husband of 50 years, somewhere near and never far out of mind. Her family rolled their eyes at her frequently muttered “can’t win for trying” mantra since she clearly was a winner in all the ways that matter: Geri won by being her own person right up to the very end, fastidiously taking care of her home and yard, her family and her friends. Many could be intimidated by her seemingly tough exterior, but soon learned she transformed into a fuzzy blanket of softness when she saw a baby or puppy and most certainly any of her grandchildren. A product of the depression-era, Geri was frugal and proud of her hard-working Polish heritage and the life she built with Harry. She took nothing for granted and was generous with with her love and devotion to her family.

She leaves behind her beloved brother Dennis (Penny) Tiskewicz, three devoted children Lynn Davis (Mac), Glenn (Jean) and Jean Rosenwald (Tom) in addition to grandchildren Andrew Jasinski (Katie), William (Caryn), Nathan, Marnie (Todd) Ihlenfeld, Michael and Adam Peliska, and Meghann (Kevin Klimo), Katie (Michael Rajzer), Amanda and Rachel; great-grandchildren Wil, Grant, Brooke, Anne, Lillian, Keenan and Eleanora. She was preceded in death by her two sisters Romaine Taube and Laverne Swick and son-in-law Bill Ihlenfeld.

No services will be held per Geri’s wishes, but the family hopes all who knew her give someone they love a big hug today. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in Geri’s honor to a charity of your choosing.
