Obituary

Obituary for Geraldine Liska

Geraldine Ione Liska (Warner), 84, passed away peacefully at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020. Geri was born in Milwaukee, WI June 7th, 1936. She was a very strong woman throughout her life. Geri endured many tragedies and multiple medical issues so this time when God came calling, she didn’t argue. Geri earned two bachelor’s degrees, art and occupational therapy. She was a special needs art teacher and later would combine occupational therapy with her special talents and experience to counsel individual families with medical challenges at local hospitals. She was an avid volunteer.

Geri’s favorite place to be on earth was at her family cottage on Lake Lucerne in Crandon, WI where she would spend full summers with her children teaching them the finer points of lake living like swimming, catching frogs and building forts. Later in life she would move to Aurora, IL, and become a caretaker for her mother, living up north during the summer and traveling during the winter. Geri enjoyed gardening and all things beautiful. She used her artistic talent to become an extraordinary card maker taking stamping to a new level. She blessed so many with her amazing cards.

Above all she enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren. She had special relationships with each of them. She will be dearly missed by her four children David (Jill Hackbarth), Kevin (Kim), Mark (Rene), and Sharon (Liska) Knott. Cherished grandmother of Crystal (Sesha) Knott, David (Diana) Knott, Jessica (Matt Valadie) Knott, Sam (Kaitlin), Luke (Dacota), Zach, Kylee, Tiffany Peltonen, Chloe and Katie. Proud grandmother to Josiah and Asher Knott and Leonidas Liska. Survived by loving sisters Jacquie (Jim) Tanner and Linette (John) Caldwell. Preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Guinevere (Moe) Warner, brother Rick (Nancy) Warner and grandfather Ole Moe.

Private immediate family only memorial service due to Covid restrictions Friday, Nov. 13th at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI.
