Obituary for Frances G. Loomer (Sherman)

Frances G. Loomer (nee Sherman) of New Berlin, WI passed away peacefully on 02/27/2022 at the age of 84. She is survived by her two sons, John and Mark (Tanya), and seven beautiful grandchildren; Anna, Daniel, Johnny, Xavier, Kira, Cami and Lexi. She is also survived by her brother Sheldon Sherman (Janice) of Charles City, IA. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband John in 1998 and also a good friend of 25 years, John Polczynski in 2011.

Frances Sherman was born on April 9, 1937 in Alexandria, Minnesota. Her family moved to Charles City, Iowa in 1944 where she attended school and graduated in 1955. She married John Loomer before moving to Wisconsin in 1960; building a home and starting a family in New Berlin. She was an active member of the New Berlin Women’s Club in the 1970’s and 1980’s, and enjoyed putting on plays at Eisenhower High School during her time with the club. She worked for many years at Universal Paper and Packaging in New Berlin, Wisconsin, before retiring in the 1990’s. She enjoyed golf, bowling, and playing in bridge groups with her friends. She loved cooking and baking, especially Christmas cookies. When she wasn’t cooking, she enjoyed going out to eat with her many friends and grandchildren at various local restaurants. One of her favorite places was the Peach Tree in New Berlin. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was watching youth sports and activities, going to Brewers games, or playing cribbage and other card games. She loved many pets over the years, and especially loved her cat Harvey for the last several years of her life.

There will be a visitation and memorial service on Saturday April 9th, 2022 from 1-3pm at Hartson Funeral Home at 11111 W Janesville Rd in Hales Corners, WI 53130. Burial will be at a future date in Charles City, IA
