Frances Rose (Lompre) Heikkinen
MILWAUKEE, WI – Frances Rose (Lompre) Heikkinen of Milwaukee, WI formerly of Atlantic Mine, MI passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 22, 2020 at the age of 74.
Born on June 4, 1945, in Hancock, MI to Wilfred and Alice Lompre of Atlantic Mine. Preceded in death by her sister Barbara Mickalich, Michael Lompre, and Gary Lompre.
Survived by her three children, Bonnie Heikkinen, Cindy (Don) Cridelich, and Kelly Heikkinen and her sisters Gloria (John) Piorkowski and Sandra (Edward) Koepel.
Survived by her grandchildren, Nicole Heikkinen, Ryan (Crystelle), Cory and Noah Cridelich, Kyle (Kelsi) and Austin Brumirski and her great- grandchildren Kali Brumirski, Brianna Heikkinen and Aiden Jackson, Ben Michels and Leah Rivas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
Words can’t express the kind of person our mama was. Her smile, words, actions, and entire personality brought joy to everyone. She was a blessing to have in our lives.
Frances had no fear. She raised us three girls in the city most of the years by herself. She sacrificed everything for us. When we look back at what our mom has done for us, it’s overwhelming, we are so grateful for the mother we had.
Frances drove a school bus for many years for children with disabilities. She loved being around kids and making them laugh and feel special. In later years, Frances was a caregiver for the elderly and brought so much joy and laughter to those who needed it most.
Everyone knows the comedian our mother was. She had no filter, the things she would say made us laugh so hard that we realized many times we should have worn depends, because we all ended up with wet panties. Mom would say, “did you pee your pants again”! You all know what we’re saying.
Frances was a jack of all trades. She loved working on cars and fixed everything around the house. She loved to dance and sing and have a good time with friends and family. She won many dance contests. Frances loved playing sports. Her favorites were baseball, bowling, pool, and basketball. Today, we read part of her diary and she wrote that if she could have been in the Olympics, she would have received a Gold medal in ‘Pole Vaulting’, we have no doubt she would have accomplished this.
Frances loved spending time with family, she loved our vacations in Michigan. The 4th of July was her favorite celebration. Everyone loved our mom and wanted to spend time with her, she was everyone’s favorite.
Our mother was the ‘rock’ of the family, she was the go-to and there for everyone. Words can’t express our sorrow. We know she will always be there for us and guide us as we continue our lives. She was a gift from God, we were so blessed to have her in our lives, she will be in our hearts forever and missed dearly.
Mom, you’re our angel, continue to spread your wings in heaven and bring joy and love to everyone. We love you, Bonnie, Cindy and Kelly
There will be a Celebration of Life to be held in Atlantic Mine, MI per her wishes. Date to be determined, announcement to follow.
