Obituary for Floyd J. Michaels

Passed away April 19, 2021 at the age of 83. Floyd was born on August 21, 1937 and grew up in Wauwatosa and Milwaukee, WI. He was preceded in death by Lorraine (nee Jatczak) his beloved wife of 50 years and his dear son, Bruce. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ralph & Ella Mae, his brothers, Gordon, Roland & Ralph and his sister, Geri.

Loving Father of Melissa Michaels (Matt Stebbins). Cherished Grandpa of Julia & Teagan Stebbins and Christopher Domenech Michaels. Dear brother of Michael, Mary, Grace, Pat and Betty. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law and friends.

Floyd was a lifelong Marine who loved to share the stories of his escapades during his service. He was extremely mechanical and used those skills in his job at Allen Bradley, repairing any machine on site along with working on the early robotics. He was an avid car collector and active member of many antique car clubs, shows and museums. Any weekend of the summer you could find him working on a car, looking at buying a car, at a car show or swap meet. He was also very supportive of his wife's quilting habit, braving crowds of quilting ladies to look at quilts, take pictures of quilts, and carry fabric purchases. He loved children and volunteered at the Burbank School in Milwaukee. Floyd never sat still and if he did happen to sit down he fell asleep. Semper Fi.

A memorial gathering will be held at Hartson Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 18th from 5 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers please donate in Floyd's name to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, https://www.greatermilwaukeefoundation.org/donors/give-online/
