Faith S. Bybee (nee Sicula) of Fox Point passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on January 23, 2021.
Beloved wife of Norbert Bybee Jr. (married 57 years), loving mother of Heather (Randy) Warren and Hillary (the late Fred) Pioso, and proud grandmother of Brittany, Brandon, and Nicole. Faith was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lillian Sicula, her sister Marilyn Sicula, and her brother Paul (Marna) Sicula. She is survived by many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Faith was born December 7, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Washington High School in 1956 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1960. After graduation, she began her long career as a nuclear medical technologist working in hospitals in Madison, San Diego, Long Beach, Racine, and Milwaukee. In addition to her work as a nuclear medical technologist, where she became known as the “go-to” person for particularly hard patients, she also performed valuable research that resulted in lifesaving drug development.
After receiving her Master of Science degree in Administrative Leadership and Supervision in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1982, she taught medical technology during the day and adult literacy during her evenings, all while raising a family. After surviving breast cancer herself, Faith continued to help others by volunteering her free time to assist people diagnosed with breast cancer through the After Breast Cancer Diagnosis organization (ABCD).
For anybody that knew Faith’s sense of humor, it was no surprise when Faith took classes in stand-up comedy, where she performed on stage at a comedy club. Later, to satisfy her sense of adventure, she joined the Fox Point Citizen’s Police Academy. Given her love of learning and performing, as an adult, Faith resumed studying the piano and enjoyed many recitals in front of family and friends. To further her foray into the arts, Faith became a proud published author after writing a book dedicated to her first-born granddaughter titled “Stories for Brittany.” Additionally, Faith fulfilled her love of travel by visiting some of her dream locations, including England, Korea, Canada, and France, where she could finally put her French major to use.
Due to the current situation with COVID-19, no services will be held at this time. Faith will be interred at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to the After Breast Cancer Diagnosis (ABCD) organization appreciated
