Obituary for Elaine Angeline Antczak

Elaine Angeline (nee Klein) Antczak

Of West Allis, born to eternal life on Friday May 13, 2022 at the age of 90. Our family lost a saint recently, but heaven gained an angel. After a fruitful life of devoting her time to raising six boys and running a home, Elaine will be profoundly missed by her beloved sons, Scott, Mark (Sarah), Todd (Kerri), Dean (Jenna), Jay (Jeanine); Proud grandmother to Nicole (Dan) Tschanz, Jacob, Nathan (JJ), Noah and Eli, Ryan, Heather and Lindsay, Ethan and Evelyn, Hannah, Hailey and Henry. Great grandmother of Zoe and Stella, Cash and Jameson, Sawyer and Jackson, cherished sister of Dolores Wolfe and sister in law Alice Stichmann. Further survived by extended family and friends.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Stephanie Klein along with her sister Ida (Al) Gorecki, brothers in-law Robert Wolfe, Carl (Grace) Antczak, Michael Antczak, Don Stichmann and sister in-law Joan Grassel, her husband’s parents as well as her husband George and youngest son Guy who are indubitably sitting by her side.

Elaine was first and foremost a loving mother and homemaker who derived most of her enjoyment from simply spending time with and around family and friends. More often than not, those times spent with family were centered around meals. Whether celebrating birthdays at differing locals with sons, or weekly breakfast out with her oldest Scott, meals with family were an integral part of what she enjoyed most. While not always sure of the name of the restaurant where she dined, it was most certainly a place where shrimp was consumed or crab was asked for.

Elaine was at home in the kitchen as well where meals prepared for a family of 8 were abundant in variety and superior in taste. Many of those meals she prepared for her sons years ago survive in a family recipe book that a new generation now enjoy. Be it the spaghetti and meat sauce meal whose recipe is from the late 1800’s, the many soups, meatloaf, Thanksgiving meal, casseroles, beef dinners, desserts or twists on other favorites, there is nothing she could not prepare that was not enjoyed. Save for the liver and onions – only her father liked that.

Visitation at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 9306 W. Beloit Rd., Milwaukee on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 10 am to 11:45 am. Funeral Mass 12 noon. Entombment to follow: Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
