Obituary

Edith E. Hottinger, 81, of South Milwaukee, died at home September 2, 2020.
She was born December 19, 1938 in Henderson Minnesota the daughter of Louis and Marcella (Kahlow) Rebers.
Edith graduated from Belle Plaine High School class of 1956. Following graduation, she attended the University of Minnesota. She married David Dennis Hottinger in 1958. They settled in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where they raised their 4 children. They celebrated 61 years of marriage this past July.
Edith placed her faith in Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was active in teaching Sunday school for many years. Edith enjoyed life, friendships, sharing her faith, reading, ceramics and other hobbies.
She is survived by her sister, her husband, four children, two son-in-laws, one daughter-in-law, twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
When Edith trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior from her sins and as the Lord of her life, she identified with the Apostle Paul and his co-worker, Timothy, when they said:

“…God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting
men’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God
were making His appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ,
be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:19-20

Edith wanted everyone to know God the Son (Jesus) as his Savior and Lord. What follows is her final appeal on Christ’s behalf (through His Word, the Bible) for you
to be reconciled to God.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death (separation from God), but the gift of God is eternal life
through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“God made him (God the Son, Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him, we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him (God the Son) is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:16--18

“…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved…”Acts 11:31
