Douglas Francis Marcelini, 91, of Greenfield, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 7, 2022, surrounded by family.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sharon Fuglestad, his daughters, Debbie (Rich) Tourangeau, Denise (Gary) Wierzbinski, and son Dana (Mary) Marcelini along with his stepdaughters Shari Olson, Shauna Fuglestad, Erin (Jason) Joanis, and stepsons Loren (Deb) Fuglestad, Darin Fuglestad. Doug is further survived and so proud of his 22 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
Doug was born in Kingsford, MI on September 16, 1930. He enlisted in the Army at 17 years old and proudly served on foreign soils for six years. Thereafter he graduated from MSOE and was excited to work as an electrical engineer on the Space Program. Doug and Doreen, married for 48 years, focused their life around family and friends until Doreen's passing in 2000.
In 2001 Doug was fortunate enough to meet Sharon and they have enjoyed 21 years together. Doug always like to brag that he retired at 55 years old and enjoyed retirement far longer than he ever had to work. Doug enjoyed spending his time socializing, gardening, cooking and traveling. Doug was ALWAYS known to ask every morning, for as long as any of us can remember, “what’s for supper?”.
Doug's celebration of life will be held on his 92nd Birthday. Memorial Gathering at St Mary Hales Corners at 9520 West Forest Home Ave, Hales Corners, Friday, September 16. Visitation from 1:00 pm until 2:45 pm, time of Mass at 3:00 pm. We thank Aurora at Home Zilber Family Hospice for the extraordinary care for Doug.
In lieu of flowers Memorials can be made to Zilber Hospice.
