I became a church friend of Lou's back in the 70's and quickly grew to be a "real" friend. She was funny, smart, strong in spirit and faith. When my son was around twelve, Lou hired him to cut her lawn. I thought it was an awesome yard, and she explained how her husband had done all the planting beds and terracing with railroad ties. I could see the showpiece it once had been. I also had the privilege of singing with Lou in the choir, she always had witty but loving comments that made rehearsals fun. She was part of the shrinking "old guard" that made the Emanuel family so strong. We will miss her, rest with God my dear friend. ~ Jayne Larson
