Obituary for Doreen Mary Rouse (Corbine)

On Thursday, March 30, 2023 Doreen Mary Rouse, loving wife, mother of four children, grandmother to nine grandchildren and beloved Pastor’s wife, went to meet Jesus at the age of 69.

Doreen was born on August 23, 1953 in Hayward, Wisconsin to Elmer and Norma Corbine. She attended MATC in Milwaukee where she met and married her husband, Theodore Nedward Rouse. They were young and in love and they were married at the ages of 18 and 19 years old. After having two daughters, Doreen along with her husband, felt the call of God and she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Victory Bible Institute. She then went into full time ministry - alongside her husband as a minister’s wife. They began traveling in tent evangelism ministry and soon settled down to plant a church in Ironwood, Michigan. Three years later in 1987, with three children and a fourth on the way, they moved back to Milwaukee and planted and pastored Faith’s Creation Church for over 33 years. She continued to support, lead and help in the ministry as Faith’s Creation transitioned to Passion Church upon her husband's passing.

Doreen was a woman full of practical and spiritual wisdom and encouragement. She led a life that always looked to the future, always full of hope. She was Theodore’s greatest support while they pastored for many years. She led a life committed to Jesus, her family and her role in ministry. She rarely passed up an opportunity to travel and take mini-adventures while bringing parts of her family along. Her children and grandkids were always in tow as she traveled by plane, train and car to wherever she felt like going. Planning trips was one of her many favorite things to do, along with researching actors and musicians that currently sparked her interest, attending concerts and shopping trips with and for her grandchildren. Doreen was a beloved mother and grandmother who led by example and was always willing to give and be on the go to be a help to her family whenever they needed her.

Doreen was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, her father, Elmer and her mother, Norma. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Roberta, Yvonne, Kathleen and Carolyn and her brothers, Joseph, William, Harold and Kenneth. She is survived by her children: Julie (Jeffrey), Jennifer (Clayton), Jonathan, and Joanna (Joshua), her grandchildren Ethan, Wesley, Ashtyn, Jada, Leila, Jude, Wyatt, Charlie and Liv and her sisters Diane and Linda (William), Elizabeth, her brothers Elmer(Jackie) and Daniel (Mimi). She had dozens of in-laws, nephews and nieces that have both preceded her passing and survived her.

There will be a celebration of life service for Doreen at Hartson Funeral Home in Hales Corners, Wisconsin on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 4 to 6 pm. Service 6 pm.

There will be a private burial service for the family in her husband's hometown of Calumet, Michigan this coming summer.
