Obituary for Donald S. Strum

Donald (Don) Strum was born to eternal life on April 9th, 2022, at the age of 81.

He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife Alice (Nee Pallen), his parents Virgil and Leafa (Nee Fisher) and Sister Carolyn Main (Nee Strum).

Beloved father of Thomas, Timothy (Randy) Evans-Strum, Julie (David) Hakala, and Jennifer (Pete Jr.) Utecht. Cherished grandfather of Ryan (Stephanie), Kaylin (Lucas), Allison (Charles), Courtney (Thomas), Pete III (Brianna), and Nicholas. Proud great-grandfather of Ella, Dean, Lola, and Sage. Dear brother of Virginia Keigley (Nee Strum). He was also survived by many nieces and nephews that he cared for deeply.

Don was born in Story City, Iowa. He participated in scouting and 4H livestock. He liked to hunt and fish with friends. Graduated from Ellsworth High School then enlisted in the United State Navy. He proudly served our country from 1959 to 1965.

Don retired from Harnischfeger after 39 years, where he made many friendships that lasted throughout the years.

He had a passion for the outdoors and wildlife, loving gardening and soaking in the sunshine.

His biggest passion was his family.

We'd also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Angel's Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI. He was unbelievably happy in his final days thanks to the staff and volunteers at this remarkable care facility.

Visitation at Hartson Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 19th from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral Service 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Angel's Grace Hospice.
