Obituary for Dolores M. Nowak
GREENFIELD – Dolores M. Nowak (Nee Piotrowski) born to eternal life April 1 2020 at the age of 84, joining her Husband, the love of her life of 65 years Robert Nowak.
Beloved Mother of Thomas Nowak, Judy (Tom – her favorite son-in-law) Held, and Catherine Nowak (David Arndt). Loving Grandmother of Jenny and Brian, who in return loved her for the amazing grandmother she was. Further survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Dolores was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, friend and so much more. All that knew her say how she was selfless, caring and had a zest for life that always shined through. Dolores had a spunk about her, always sweet with a hint of sassy, and that is why everyone couldn’t get enough of her. Dolores was always known by the kids in the neighborhood to be the best mom, and her children know this to be true. Dolores worked at EJ Salentines for many years, those she worked with always had a special place in her heart, especially Sue, Sandy, Mary and Scott, you were like family to her and she spoke of you often. Dolores was an amazing cook, she was always worried about providing and creating meals for her family and friends before feeding herself. Hobbies included swimming in her younger years, golf and bowling. Many summers were spent in Fox Lake, WI, it was a special place to be with family and friends. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, she was always a big part of their lives. From the time her grandchildren were babies till teenagers every March they would vacation to Florida were millions of memories were made. Dolores was one of the best supporters to Jenny, she provided encouragement her entire way through nursing school until she graduated, and continued to support her in life. Dolores loved sports, but her favorite team to watch was the Milwaukee Brewers, she always knew everything about the team and players, more than any men in the family. She shared this love of baseball with her grandson Brian, always cheering him on to get those homeruns. On Brewer game night you could find her in her recliner watching the game with her favorite yellow lab Jake (Poochie) by her side.
Dolores was a true inspiration, she touched many lives and will be missed by all who loved her.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date due to the current health crisis.
