Dennis Alden Miller went home to Jesus on February 17, 2021 at the age of 70 with his wife and sons by his side.
Dennis was born on March 10, 1950 in Muskego and lived with his family in Big Bend. He was a loving husband of Tammy (nee Leipolt) Miller for nearly 25 years, having married on May 11, 1996. Dear father of Aaron and Ryan. Brother of Kenneth Miller and uncle and great-uncle of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Son of the late Emery and Irma Miller and also preceded by his brother Norman and sisters-in-law Marilyn Miller and Sandy Miller.
He enjoyed teaching and spent many years as a technical instructor at Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) and Asea Brown Baveri (ABB). He had the opportunity to travel the world for the 25 years that he worked for ABB, but always said he most enjoyed coming home to his family whom he loved. He was honored to be an usher and volunteer his time for many years at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed spending time outside gardening, landscaping, and working in the yard. His favorite item to use for landscaping was stone and he would tell stories about clearing large stones out of neighboring farm fields for our yard. We may be the only yard in the area with a stone ditch that he was told was nicknamed the drunk trap by a local police officer. His favorite pastime was woodworking in his shop. He spent hours creating clocks, pen and pencil sets, furniture, bowls, and just about anything Tammy would ask of him. But most of all, he cherished any time he spent together with his family. Dennis and Ryan would daily watch old black and white TV shows together with their favorite being Andy Griffith and just about every old western imaginable. He and Aaron would have in-depth conversations about just about anything… politics, religion, current events, things Aaron was learning in college and things Dennis was teaching. Dennis was continuously setting a beautiful example for his sons what it meant to be a loving and devoted Christian father and husband.
He truly was cherished by his family and friends and will be dearly missed by those whose lives he touched. We’ll miss his wisdom and wit, his sense of humor and his laugh, the way he’d roll his eyes when he saw or heard something ridiculous, simply sharing how our day was with each other, and the way he showed his love by taking care of those he loved in so many different ways. Although we are heart-broken he is no longer home with us, we can only imagine the joy he is experiencing living in the presence of God. We look forward to being together with him again someday in heaven.
Instead of flowers, Dennis would have most appreciated memorials be sent to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Muskego, WI. He thought of our church as his home and family.
