Obituary for Dennis Leonard Gumieny

Dennis Leonard Gumieny
Age 73 of Wind Lake WI
5/22/2021 at home
Son of Gilbert and Dorthy Edna Gumieny (Heidger)

Dennis is survived by his 2nd wife Wendy, his Children, 11 Grandchildren, Siblings, many special cousins and family friends. Son, Brother, Uncle D, The Commander, Hunter Friend was born in Milwaukee to Dorothy and Gilbert Gumieny. In his early years, Dennis served in the Air National Guard. He graduated college and worked as a head Electrician of his Department at Kreger Printing Plant. In his early years, he enjoyed many weekends with family in the Muskego Old Style Riders Horse Club, Muskego Snowmobilers Club and Hunting Club. After his retirement he enjoyed adding to his collection of flashlights and other treasures. He found peace up north with his cousins and brothers at the farm, riding ATVs, traveling south for big game hunting, and competing in marksman shooting competitions at his cousins’ land. He was a lover of history, and all things nature, especially deer Hunting. He had an eagle eye, MacGyver like skills, the Gumieny hair and stubbornness. He was a man of few words. If he took you to the woods, you knew he loved you. We ask that you hold those happy memories close to your heart.
If You’re packing up your sleeping bag, your lantern and your tent, and you're off to find the life you lost, but unsure where it went, I hope those hills will teach you how to stand both tall and proud, that you see your life much clearer, with your head above the clouds. I hope that you are humbled by the vastness of the sea, that eagles soar high above you and make you feel like you are free. I hope when night has fallen, and your fire is just a spark, that stars shine to remind you that there is beauty in the dark.
