Obituary for Charles H. "Tuna" Schmidt
Charles “Charlie” “Tuna” Schmidt, age 68, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019.
He was a devoted husband to his wife of 43 years, Janet, and a cherished father to his two daughters Robyn (Joe) Freville and Carrie Schmidt. He was also a proud “Papa” to his grandson, Conor. Charlie will be greatly missed by his 2 brothers Steve (Kathy) and Kevin (Marnie) and the rest of his family and many, many friends.
Charlie loved and worked serving the community as a police officer for 30+ years with the Greenfield Police Department, and also as a 3rd generation member of the Hales Corners Fire Department for 30+ years. Charlie loved anything that involved lights and sirens and helping people and the community, but was extremely humble and private about all of his accomplishments.
Per Charlie’s wishes, there will not be any funeral services held; however, in “Charlie fashion,” the family will be planning a celebration of his life, with a time, date and place to be determined, and will be announced by the family once the details are worked out.
