Obituary for Charles Eugene Cherney

Charles E. Cherney (Travis), a proud veteran of the U.S.M.C., sadly passed away on December 15th, 2022, surrounded by family at his home in West Allis, WI, after a short battle with cancer. Chuck was an amazing husband and father, faithful servant of the lord, a true lover of animals, an outdoor enthusiast and an accomplished musician in the Wisconsin area for over 60 years. He will be incredibly missed as the patriarch of our family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Donna (nee Stengel), his son, Charles R. (Melissa) Cherney, his sister Gail (John) Kramer, his sister Charmaine (Bill) Yehle, his mother-in-law, Florence Stengel, brother/sister-in-laws; Robert Stengel, Cindy (Joe) Ulrich, Jack (Barb) Stengel, Richard Stengel. He also left behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his mother and father, Charles and Matilda Cherney, his father-in-law, Robert Stengel and his sister-in-law Debbie Stengel.

Please join us at Hartson Funeral Home in celebrating his life Thursday afternoon, December 22nd, 2022 with visitation from 1pm to 3pm. Funeral Service 3pm.

A private burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
