BETTY JANE JANIK passed away peacefully on October 15, 2020. She was 85 years old. Betty was the proud mother of four boys, grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of nine. She is preceded in death by her parents- Virgil and Lillian Nelson, siblings- Vearl (Bette) Nelson and Lyle (Gen) Nelson, and children- Peter Jaroch and John Janik. She is survived by her siblings- Bonnie (Alvin) Jensen and Carole (Doug) DeFrang, children- Michael (JimiLynn) Jaroch and Jim (Sue) Janik, and grandchildren- Jamie (Scott) Kabelowsky, Jennifer Ortiz, Jessica (Heather) Boland, Amanda (Corey) Huennekens, Corey (Kristina) Janik, Brandon (Shannon) Janik, and Nicholas (Hailey) Janik.

Betty was born in Minnesota. She spent much of her youth helping her parents on their farm. She would share many stories about their horses and walking to and from school through feet of snow. Eventually Betty relocated to Wisconsin, where she would bring four wonderful sons into the world. She was always known for her hard work, as she held multiple jobs at the same time to support her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, and playing bingo. Betty will truly be missed by all. A special ‘thank-you’ to the caregivers at Autumn Bay in Pewaukee who cared for Betty as if their own.

Betty’s visitation will be held at Hartson Funeral Home in Hales Corners, Wisconsin on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 3pm-6pm. In lieu of flowers, her family is asking for donations to charity, as Betty would frequently contribute to various charities through the years.

My very deepest sympathy to all the family. My best memories are the two trips she made with me to Arizona in my RV. We had a great time. Betty was a special gal. Her baby sister...Carole De Frang
