For where your Treasure is, there also will your Heart be. - Matthew 6:21
Mom’s treasure in life was her family and faith as evidenced by her gentle love and compassionate service. As a caring daughter, mom selflessly helped to support her family in extraordinary ways. As a loving wife, she and Dad devoted themselves to strengthening their love for each other, and for God, as they navigated through life’s challenges with faith and hope.
As a mother, she was our fiercest, yet kindest advocate for all that was good. Together with Dad, mom taught us what authentic love looked like and felt like. Mom spent a lifetime sharing the warmth of her friendship. She humbly served her church in both leadership roles and in the many quiet acts of volunteerism. She ministered to the sick. She cared for the dying. She was an incredible role model for generosity and kindness. She taught us truth, empathy, and the beauty of sacrifice.
And through it all, she was filled with joy. We laughed together...we laughed often and hard. For now, we cry with a deep ache. But, it is because of her legacy that we, her family and friends, are filled with hope that God will embrace her with His perfect love; and that she will be reunited with Dad once again. We pray that we will carry on her legacy of faith, family, love, and service for generations.
