Obituary for Ann Marie Doedens (Trautschold)

Ann Marie Doedens, age 43, of Muskego, Wisconsin, passed away at home from Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer on Wednesday, November 15. She was born on July 7, 1980, sharing her birthday with her maternal grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Mike Doedens, her three children, Audrey, Nolan, and Drew, two step children, Lauren and Nick. She is also survived by her parents, Mark and Mary Trautschold, and her two brothers, Matthew (Kendra), their daughter Audrey, and David (Michel). She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Walter and Jean Heinrich, her paternal grandparents, Walter and Mimi Trautschold; her godmother, Aunt Kathie Engel; and a number of other relatives.

Ann Marie was a 1998 graduate of Pacelli High School in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and a 2002 graduate of UW-LaCrosse. After a number of jobs following her college graduation, she was hired by Kohl’s Corporation in 2007 where she eventually became a store operations manager.

Although Ann Marie had a variety of interests, accomplishments, and talents, being a Mom and spending time with her children brought her the most joy. Beyond that, her greatest legacy will be the Warrior spirit she displayed while journaling on Caring Bridge her four and a half year battle with cancer. She was an inspiration to many as she was a major fundraiser for Susan G Komen walks, was a keynote speaker at two Susan G Komen galas, joined others during ProHealth’s cancer walk, was a mentor to a number of others battling or just diagnosed with cancer, and was a bright and shining and smiling star as she gave hope to others at the Pewaukee Cancer Center. She did all of this while being a wife and mother and still working full time at Kohl’s until she couldn’t. She was #AMStrong.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 29, at Southbrook Church, Franklin, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 11:00 am, until services begin at 12:30 pm. Refreshments will be served in the church reception area following the service.

Ann Marie’s family would like to give a special thanks to the medical staff at ProHealth Cancer Center in Pewaukee for all the love and care you gave to her, to Kohl’s Corporation for the depth of support you showed her, and to all of the people who rallied around her throughout this journey.

Ann Marie hoped that no one should ever suffer from cancer and requested that anyone wishing to donate money in her memory direct it to one of these three organizations:
